Pilates Floor Exercises


Pilates promotes physical harmony and balance while providing an energizing workout. Using the abdomen as the power centre, the rest of the body moves through a variety of floor exercises. The results are improved posture and body tone, long slender muscles, flat/firm tummy and most importantly a strong back. Regardless of your current level of fitness – from couch potato to fitness enthusiast – Pilates can be your primary mode of body conditioning and injury prevention. This course focuses on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk of body.

IMPORTANT: if you have a pre-existing medical condition, such as back or neck pain, it is necessary for you to consult and receive clearance from your doctor before joining this class.
This is a group course focused on fitness and should not be confused with the Pilates method delivered for rehabilitation purposes or under close supervision.

Materials
Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a towel
Bring a Pilates/composite rubber mat.

Learned the ability to implement the skills in class or at home.

I’ve noticed many changes in my body, posture and head space and I believe it’all due to Pilates at City East College. Every week I seem to have an ‘a ha ’ moment when an exercise falls into place and gels in my mind. The teacher has made such a difference to my practice, I am totally hooked.
