If you haven’t had it before Kombucha is a refreshing and healing fermented drink made up of tea, sugar, water and a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). As a living, fermented drink it changes as the fermentation process progresses. Many people have their own personal preference about how they like their Kombucha: slightly effervescent as a refreshing beverage to a very strong morning shot for health purposes.

As a fermented drink Kombucha is great for your gut health, it has pre and probiotic properties that boost your immune system. Modern research is quickly catching up to its use as a complementary therapy and preventative medicine. However, this is something that has been known for some time. It originated in China over 2000 years ago and spread through Europe through trade routes. Wherever Kombucha went, it was utilised for its its detoxifying and energising properties.

This engaging and interactive course includes all notes, tasting and a take home 3.7kg Kombucha making kit including SCOBY, starter liquid, organic Rapadura sugar and organic green tea (valued at over $50). The SCOBY is from the Kombucha culture that your tutor Cynthia has nurtured for years.
