Exercise for Women & Mothers

To move well is to feel well. Women, and particularly women who have given birth, have particular needs when it comes to exercise. This is a safe and inclusive program to improve your strength and flexibility.

Focus your attention to developing core strength and movement control, hip, leg and upper limb strength and spinal mobility. Work the deep slow muscles of the body to improve core control and give a foundation for all activities, sports and daily function.

This class is a non-aerobic mat class, we work in bare feet and loose or flexible clothing.

Your tutor Caroline is an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and has a background in Contemporary Dance and practices Yoga. She began running this exercise class originally as a class for mothers in 2005, after the birth of her second child. She was looking for an appropriate class to regain her strength and flexibility and decided to run her own class when she couldn’t find an appropriate class. This class has developed into a women and mothers class inclusive of women of all ages and stages in life.

Having worked with core control, functional and sports rehabilitation for patients with spinal and musculoskeletal issues she has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
