Cultivating Compassion

Learn about the worldwide compassion movement and how cultivating your own compassion benefits your community. Waverly Council was the first city to join the Charter for Compassion Australia – this course gives you the skills and practices to embrace the compassion revolution.

Develop and cultivate habits and practices that lead to good health and good humanity. The course will enable you to bring a more kind-hearted attitude and compassionate presence to yourself and others and to the situations you encounter in the world. Living with compassion develops a genuine greater sense of wellbeing, helps you be more skilful with others and supports you responding skilfully to the suffering in the world. The course integrates mind, body and emotional practices.

Each session will include:

  • Guided imagery that develop mindfulness, loving kindness, compassion, joy, empathy, and care.
  • Experiential communication exercises that support developing compassion with each other
  • Discussion on these rich topics
  • Practical teaching on how to integrate these qualities into your work and life.

In between classes you are encouraged to cultivate a daily practice and engage with homework practices on compassion.

This course is for anyone wishing to develop more kindness empathy and compassion toward themselves of others.
