Stained Glass

Develop the skills of a traditional stained glass worker as you learn about the properties of various decorative glasses, how to cut class and how to work with lead and solder to design and manufacture a set project.

This short course will cover the six basic steps to building a leadlight panel. The steps are drawing, glass cutting, leading, soldering, puttying and polishing. Occupational health and safety will be covered at the start of the class.

A simple introductory project will be completed and all materials will be supplied along with loan tools. Once completed, the course will enable students to attempt larger projects in their own time and provide an introduction to more advanced projects and courses.

Please note: as this class involves exposure to lead based materials it is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women.

All students need to wear covered shoes and long pants/jeans when attending the course. Goggles, latex gloves are supplied.
