Mixed Media

Unlock your creativity as you learn an array of different drawing techniques and be shown a variety of mixed media. Combine your favourite methods to create ‘wall hung’ art peices.
Modalities will include pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels, collage and printmaking (lino-cut). Other media may be introduced with student interest.
Materials
Most materials can be acquired at $2 stores (check there first),
then the rest try art supply stores, e.g. Bondi Road Art Supplies and Oxford Art Supplies Taylor Square.
For the first night please bring:
cartridge paper – a nA3 size cartridge pad will do. This will be needed every night.
Inks – sepia and black
Sponge – sea sponge or spongy brush
3x plastic cups or containers (for ink and water)

Acrylics paints (thick consistency) – primary colours
Palette knife
Small canvas (board) A5 to A4 (also available $2 stores)
Oil Pastel – light in colour
Stanley blade
Acrylic paint – dark in colour
Weeks 5 to 8 –
Interesting paper and/or paper cuttings, magazines, photo’s, bric-a-brac items (small)
PVA glue
A5 to A4 block of MDF wood, Mount board or Card
Contact sheets – preferably coloured
Stanley knife

Printmaking roller (approx. 3 to 5 inches)
A5 to A4 lino piece
